Welcome to BbinFinkle Interiors, a woman-owned interior design studio and antiques shop in Richmond, North Yorkshire. We create spaces that breathe creativity and personality, giving you the freedom to explore your own style through vintage finds, curated antiques, and bespoke design.
After more than two decades working as an art director and trained set designer, Robinia founded BbinFinkle to bring her passion for design, architecture, and interiors from film sets into everyday homes. Drawing on a background in theatre and film design, she approaches interiors as carefully crafted environments, spaces filled with character, story, and individuality.
Our artistic training and design background allow us to source objects with a truly distinctive eye. In our Finkle Street antiques and interiors shop, you will find a carefully curated collection of one-of-a-kind vintage furniture, antique décor, art, glassware, and interior curiosities. Alongside these special pieces we showcase work by contemporary artists, unique homeware, and specialist paints and materials used in our design practice.
Through Robinia’s experience in film and theatre design, we also have access to specialist fabrics, paints, and decorative materials not widely available on the open market. These can be sourced for interior design projects or bespoke commissions, allowing us to help realise your vision in a truly personal way.
Our work centres on bringing life to your home and celebrating each client’s unique style. This might mean helping you discover the perfect vintage or antique piece to add to a collection, reimagining an inherited item you treasure, or completely transforming a room through interior design consultation and bespoke decoration.
Our bold and imaginative design approach extends to personal commissions and custom decorative work. If you visit the shop, you will often find us working at the back between conversations with our lovely customers. One day we may be painting a china cabinet inherited from a grandmother with hand-painted botanical designs, creating an heirloom for the next generation. Another day we might be crafting a lamp using vintage or limited-edition fabrics, giving a familiar room a subtle but transformative update.
At BbinFinkle we believe that the most beautiful interiors often come from reworking and celebrating what you already own, rather than replacing it. Our design philosophy embraces the old while imagining new possibilities. Through our interior design consultations we work with you to rethink and refresh your space. Sometimes this involves introducing a few carefully sourced antique or vintage pieces. Other times it means completely reimagining a room through colour, texture, and decorative storytelling. Our goal is always the same: to create interiors that feel personal, expressive, and full of life.

Our bespoke interior design services place your tastes, ideas, and aspirations at the centre of every project. Using architectural knowledge, colour theory, and artistic practice, we transform interiors into spaces that reflect who you are.
We are also a great choice for large-scale mural design and decorative painting. Perhaps you have a staircase calling out for new life, a room ready for a bold feature wall, or even a dream of your own celestial ceiling.
Alongside larger commissions, we create custom cushions, lamps, and decorative pieces designed to act as distinctive accents that bring a room together.
Do you have a favourite piece of furniture you would like reworked? With decades of painterly training and artistic practice, we specialise in hand-painted furniture, creative restoration, and bespoke decorative finishes, turning cherished pieces into something entirely new.
Workshops
Our workshops take place on a Sunday. These workshops allow you to think though design conception, colour theory and gives you space to explore your own creativity.
Workshops are a friendly, artistic space which creates confidence in your own creative vision and tapping into a well of inspiration. You will learn from decades of painterly and artistic knowledge and training with our very own artistic director.
You leave with your own uniquely designed and hand-painted piece to proudly display at home.
Curated Antiques and Vintage Finds
Both online and in our Richmond shop, you can explore and discover the perfect piece for your home.
With enthusiasm, artistic training, and a sharp eye for exceptional design, we carefully select every object that enters the store. Our sourcing adventures regularly bring back unique vintage finds, one-of-a-kind paintings and drawings, French antique furniture, and unusual decorative curiosities.
Among our favourites are some rather delightful creatures including the five-toed dragoon and the majestic lion, each adding a little character to the collection.
If you have a specific antique or vintage piece in mind, we can also source it for you. Thanks to decades of experience working in film and theatre design, and an extensive network of dealers and specialists, we are experts at finding just the right object to complete your space.
